Role

UI Game Developer

I worked on a team of developers at Marist College to produce a game for the capstone project of the year. Queen's Burrow is that game. It's a Souls-like game with money and item system that resets what you have on your person when you die. The goal is to explore the burrow and make your way through infected enemies to gather 3 heirlooms and return them back to safe keeping. It has a customizable combat system with a multitude of weapons and spells that you can adjust to your liking according to skill trees and personal preference, based on the money you get in the burrow.
In the development of this game, I took on a few roles, the initial role was establishing a baseline for the HUD and UI elements, mainly the code behind the Spell Slots, that would take on a different look and added implementations as the game evolved. After that, I assisted primarily on the Dialogue system, implementing the base code for every single NPC and their lines of dialogue and how they went about being said. If you don't care about game spoilers, I also primarily assisted in the implementation of a feature surrounding the boss, and their transition from being an NPC to the final enemy. Overall my greatest contribution to this project was my knowledge of UI elements and their implementation.
